Oak Brook Police Officiers Visit Summer Camp
Posted by: m.martinson // Category: Special EventWhat a treat for the campers this morning! Officers, Robin and Erica, came to teach the children some safety tips.
Officer Erica Huff read a story to the children that had many good ideas about keeping safe when around people you do not know. Campers were able to respond to questions and learn some safety techniques.
Children were able to have a turn to practice dialing 911 after Officer Robin Crook read a book about when is the right time to call 911 for help.
Officer Crook noted the importance for young children to know their own phone numbers including the area code and the names of their parents. Many of the campers were happy to share that they knew that information already. Others were told to start practicing that important skill.
We are appreciative to the Oak Brook Police Department for visiting our summer camp and sharing information and gifts with the children.
