Missionary Makes Second Visit This Year to School Today

Mrs. Karen came to do chapel for the boys and girls today.  Last fall she was able to tell the children about her work in China.  We were happy to see her again so soon with an update on her work.  The kindergarten class was especially interested in what she had to share because they have been studying about several countries including China.  Mrs. Karen loaned them a great picture book for further study.

Lesson Learned

During the free playtime in Mrs. Bonnie’s class one of the students gathers her own little class to review the alphabet letters they have been learning throughout the year.  It is always rewarding to see children putting the things they have learned into practice.

DCFS License Renewed

Posted by: m.martinson  //  Category: FYI

Today was the day our Department of Children and Family Services representative came to inspect our facility for the purpose of renewing our license.  The process went smoothly as she poured over the records of our employees and students.  We are happy to say our records were in great shape.  There was plenty of paperwork to submit for approval before she began her tour of the facility.  Classrooms and the playground were inspected to assure that we meet the requirements for children to teacher ratio and that we have proper equipment and toys.  This facility is regularly inspected by the Du Page County Health Department and the Illinois Fire Marshal’s office.  Their reports are a part of our license renewal process.  The good news is we passed inspection with flying colors and will continue to offer quality services into the future.

Builder Girls Present Their Creation.

Playing with blocks is not just play.  It encourages problem-solving, fine- and gross-motor development, and the development of math, science, language and social skills.  We enjoyed watching these girls learn through block play!
