Judging by the spaghetti sauce marks left on the kids faces, I would say our meal was a success.  When parents ask for the sauce recipe, I think we may have pleased them with the fare also.  Tummy’s were full and everyone was smiling at the end of our event so we will consider repeating this again next year.

Classes did not sit together for the event, so parents and guests got to meet others from the school family.  It was nice to see interaction between people who were getting to know each other for the first time.

We are expecting more than ninety people to join us tomorrow at 11AM for our first spaghetti luncheon.  The kids are excited to be eating with their guests.  Mrs. Barb is ready for the challenge of feeding the big crowd and we all appreciate her willingness to serve.  We hope to have pictures of the event on the blog by Thursday afternoon.

We had a good time with several of our potential kindergarten 2010-11 parents last night.  Mrs. Munguia was able to present her goals and philosophy of education and give an overview of the ABeka Christian Curriculum that is used in her program.  Parents were able to ask question that will help them make an informed decision as to the right program for their children.   A tuition incentive was announced to parents who enroll their children by 2/26/10.  March 1st is the date for open enrollment to start.  Current OBCS families have an opportunity to reserve a spot before that date.

Parents of children turning five by September first are invited to meet with the  Kindergarten teacher next Thursday evening for an overview of the kindergarten program for next school year.  An early sign up tuition incentive will be announced at the meeting.  Please let us know you are coming and if you will need childcare.

What a fun way to start a snowy day at school.  Mrs. Munguia had all the children don their hats and mittens for opening this morning.  We all had a chance to do the Snowkey Pokey before starting class time.  It was a good time of singing and dancing.
